Washing Guide

Before First Use

  • We recommend washing your nappies before first use.
  • The inserts are made of natural fibres, and can take a two to three washes to get up to full absorbency. They can be washed with any wash to get them up to absorbency. Do not use fabric Softener!
  • Many people prefer to wash the nappy shells before first use.
  • Please note the warnings and  guidance below before your first wash!

After First use

  • Dispose of any solids in the toilet and dispose of any liners in the bin
  • Store nappies in a dry pail or nappy bag until wash day
  • Prewash nappies on a short cycle with a half load of non-bio washing powder.
  • After prewash you can either do a full wash or dry pail the nappies until main wash day.
  • The main wash should be a long cycle of at least 2 hours and they can be washed up to 60 degrees. Nappies need a long cycle to get them clean and to avoid soap build up
  • They should be washed using non-bio washing powder with the appropriate dose for your load size
  • Do not use bleach.
  • Do not use fabric softener. Fabric softener will reduce the absorbency of the nappies.
  • Do not iron.
  • Do not dry clean.
  • We recommend line drying the nappies outside where possible or on a clothes horse inside. This is the best for the environment and economically friendly.
  • Do not place on direct heat.
  • Our nappies can be tumble dried on a low heat where required. Continued tumble drying may reduce the lifespan of the nappies. If required tumble dry the inserts and line dry the shells. The shells are quick drying.
  • Remember to run a clean cycle on your washing machine at least once a month to ensure it is nice and clean.

Please note that failure to follow the warnings above will invalidate your warranty.
