What do I do with the poo in my reusable nappies?

This is one of the main questions we get asked “what do you do with the poo?” This is one of the biggest concerns parents have when thinking about using reusable nappies.

For babies up to six months or before you start weaning have water soluble poo. We therefore recommend just popping them in the wash after use. We do not recommend the use of any liners at this stage.

Once babies are weaned and have moved on to solids their poo changes. At this point we recommend the use of a liner to help with the removal of the poo. All you need to do is remove the liner and pop the poo in the toilet and the liner in the bin. Then your nappy is ready for washing. You can find our biodegradable liners here.

Once you have removed the poo from the reusable nappy just store it in a wet bag or bucket until wash day. You can find pods and wet bags in our shop.

We recommend washing them every 2 to 3 days (wash guide)

Did you know that you are meant to put the poo in the toilet with disposal nappies too?
